Summer fun
Double chocolate milkshake
This version of a classic milkshake reminds me of the first time I ate in an all American Diner in South Carolina USA and had my first milkshake. A good shake should be creamy, thick and smooth, it should leave you full – almost like a dessert in a glass
Makes 4
Preparation time 5 minutes plus chilling
Cooking time 3 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Litre milk- (full cream)
- 100g of dark chocolate roughly chopped
- 4 large scoops of good quality, creamy chocolate ice cream
- 2 tsp chocolate extract / flavouring
- 2 Tbsp. malted milk powder- I use @milo
- 2 good handfuls of ice cubes
- Good quality drinking chocolate powder for dusting
Directions
Chill 4 tall serving glasses in the Fridge
Put the milk in a saucepan and heat to simmering point. Remove it from the heat, add the chocolate and stir until completely melted. Leave to cool, then chill in the fridge.
Pour the chocolate milk into a blender with the remaining ingredients. Blend at full speed until the mixture is light and frothy and there are no more ice crystals.
Pour into the chilled glasses, dust generously with drinking chocolate powder and serve immediately..
Bonus Tip: Kick back, relax, and enjoy the refreshing decadence of our double chocolate milkshake.
